Proverbs 8:9 Meaning They Are All Plain to Him

They are all plain to him who understands, right to those who find knowledge.

What does Proverbs 8:9 mean?

Truth is not hidden from anyone; it only waits on the willingness to see it. To a mind still teaching itself that the self is guilty, love's account sounds strange, even too simple to be real.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY

Christian Psychology

Truth is not hidden from anyone; it only waits on the willingness to see it. To a mind still teaching itself that the self is guilty, love's account sounds strange, even too simple to be real. But the difficulty was never in the message. It was in the listener's insistence that condemnation must be part of any honest word.

Once a mind lays that insistence down, what seemed obscure becomes obvious. This is what it means to find knowledge: not to acquire a hard secret, but to drop the one belief that kept the plain thing looking complicated. Innocence was always the clear reading; guilt was the puzzle.

Live Proverbs 8:9 today

  1. Take one worry you have been turning over for days and ask what it looks like if you are not guilty in it. The problem usually gets much smaller and much clearer.
  2. With someone whose behavior puzzles you, try the simplest kind reading first. Nine times in ten the obvious generous explanation is the right one.
  3. When something goes wrong today, resist the search for who to blame, including yourself, and just look at what happened. You will see it far more plainly.

What have I been treating as complicated that gets simple the moment nobody has to be at fault?
