Psalms 11:7 Meaning For Yahweh Is Righteous

For Yahweh is righteous. He loves righteousness. The upright shall see his face.

What does Psalms 11:7 mean?

A river carries downstream whatever fell into it upstream, and a heart that loves fairness one day drinks the fairness it loved. So much of doing right is quiet bargaining, a good deed that appears only when watched.

Sufism

A river carries downstream whatever fell into it upstream, and a heart that loves fairness one day drinks the fairness it loved. So much of doing right is quiet bargaining, a good deed that appears only when watched. Better to do one kind thing today that no one will hear about, letting the love of it be the whole payment.

The seeing this promises is no coin paid at the end. What a person practices becomes the eye he looks through, until the honest heart meets the fair One everywhere.

Live Psalms 11:7 today

  1. Do one small decent thing today that leaves no trace and that you will not mention to anyone, not even in passing.
  2. Be fair to someone who cannot do anything for you, the person at the counter, the new hire, the driver who cut in. Same tone you would use for someone important.
  3. When a decision at work would be easier if you shaded one detail, leave the detail where it is and take the harder conversation.

Am I practicing fairness, or only performing it where it counts?

Hinduism · karma

What you practice is what you become. Actions are less like payments and more like grooves worn into the person who repeats them.

Stoicism · Marcus Aurelius

The reward for a just act is having done it. Look for a second payment and you have already turned it into a trade.

Buddhism · the Dhammapada

The mind takes the shape of what it dwells on, and the life follows close behind, as the wheel follows the ox.
