Psalms 132:18 Meaning I Will Clothe His Enemies with Shame

I will clothe his enemies with shame, but on himself, his crown will shine.

What does Psalms 132:18 mean?

The enemies are the opposing forces within a person, the lower impulses and false convictions that war against the rising self; to clothe them with shame is to see them exposed and stripped of their power, wrapped in their own emptiness once the light comes. What set itself against the inner king is uncovered and left without covering, its authority undone from within.

Upon the anointed one the crown flourishes: the circle of realized light around the head does not merely rest but blossoms and grows. The higher self, once enthroned, wears an ever-brightening consciousness while its inner opponents fade into disgrace. This is the ripening of the awakened mind, the crown of attained light thriving on the head of the one who has overcome the enemies bred in his own nature.

  1. Catch one of your harsh inner lines today, the one that says you are behind or not enough, and look straight at it instead of arguing. Said out loud, most of them sound borrowed and thin.
  2. When someone pushes a button and you feel the flare of wanting to win, stay kind and stay honest. You do not have to shame them to stop being run by it.
  3. In a tense moment, when the impulse rises to fire off the sharp email or the last word in the thread, wait ten minutes. The impulse that looked like strength almost always turns out to be fear wearing a costume.

Which voice in your head have you been obeying without ever checking who it belongs to?
