God's instruction revives a person who has given out. The Hebrew behind restoring the soul is used of someone faint with hunger, when food goes in and life comes back.

Perfect is the word for an unblemished animal, fit for the altar. What God gives has no gaps and can carry the weight of a whole life. The simple person is the wide-open one, talked into anything by whoever spoke last. God's testimony does more than steady that person; it hands them wisdom of their own, so the one who believed the last voice can weigh the next one.

  1. Instead of reading ten takes on the news today, read one short thing slowly and sit with it on your commute. One idea understood is worth more than fifty skimmed.
  2. Ask someone you trust what they actually think about a question you keep going in circles on. Then let them finish before you argue.
  3. When a headline or hot post makes you certain in ten seconds, hold off on sharing it. Give it a day. If it is true tomorrow, it will still be true tomorrow.

Truth heard from outside yourself becomes a light you can see by. Once the understanding is your own, you are no longer led around by other people's certainty.

Buddhism · Kalama Sutta

Do not accept something because a teacher said it or a crowd repeated it. Test it against what you have seen for yourself, and the knowing becomes yours.
