MANIFESTATION

Manifestation

The one begotten here is the awakened self, the son the old writings call David. He wakes inside a person and turns to face the one he came from. The moment he stirs, he does what no circumstance can do. He calls his source Father, and by that single word he shows the sleeper who he has been all along. That naming is the begetting. It comes on the day awareness knows itself as the origin of everything it has been imagining.

The decree, then, is a father recognizing his own son and, in the same breath, being recognized by him. A state held long enough turns and answers back, and when it calls a person its maker, the maker it names is his own awareness. He fathered it. The son and the father were the same awareness the whole time, meeting itself once it woke up.

Live Psalms 2:7 today

  1. At some quiet point today, catch the plain fact that you exist, before any description of who you are. Stay with that for a minute and let it be the thing you are, not a thing you have.
  2. Tell one person something you now recognize about yourself that you did not see a year ago. Say it simply, as a fact, not as a confession.
  3. When something today makes you feel small, like a bad email or a dismissive reply, pause and remember that you are the one aware of all this, not the thing it says you are.

What in your life turned around and showed you who you have been all along?

The same truth in other traditions

Upanishads

That which you have been searching for is what you are. The moment it is recognized, the seeker and the source turn out to be one awareness meeting itself.

Zen

What is your original face, the one you had before your parents were born? Waking up is not acquiring something new, it is being recognized by what you already were.
