Psalms 31:5 Meaning Into Your Hand I Commend My Spirit
Into your hand I commend my spirit. You redeem me, Yahweh, God of truth.

Psalms 31:5 · World English Bible
Into your hand I commend my spirit. You redeem me, Yahweh, God of truth.
These are the words spoken from the cross, and they belong to David as much as to Christ, for the two are one figure inside a single drama. To hand over your spirit is to entrust your whole awareness to an assumption and let it carry you through the dark interval while a new garment is being shaped on you.

MANIFESTATION
These are the words spoken from the cross, and they belong to David as much as to Christ, for the two are one figure inside a single drama. To hand over your spirit is to entrust your whole awareness to an assumption and let it carry you through the dark interval while a new garment is being shaped on you. You stop steering. The conviction now wears you, and you rest inside it as a man rests in another's grip.
Redemption is not relief about the details. The creative power you once misused, spent on fear and on outcomes you did not want, is dissolved by that surrender and returned to you whole. What you release stops holding you and comes back as your own. That is what it means to be redeemed by the God of truth: the power you gave away, restored to the one who let it go.

What would today feel like if you were being carried rather than doing the carrying?
Krishna tells Arjuna to surrender every action and its fruit, and promises that what is handed over completely comes back as freedom rather than loss.
Rumi says the reed must be cut from the reed bed and hollowed out before it can make music. What it gives up becomes the very thing that sounds through it.
The one who yields is the one who is made whole. Giving up the grip is not defeat, it is how the power returns.
