Psalms 50:10 Meaning For Every Animal of the Forest Is

For every animal of the forest is mine, and the livestock on a thousand hills.

What does Psalms 50:10 mean?

The forest here is the mind, wild and teeming, and every creature in it belongs to the awareness that contains it. Your fears and your hopes, your dark moods and your bright ones, all of them graze inside one field of consciousness that is yours.

MANIFESTATION

Manifestation

The forest here is the mind, wild and teeming, and every creature in it belongs to the awareness that contains it. Your fears and your hopes, your dark moods and your bright ones, all of them graze inside one field of consciousness that is yours. Nothing wanders in there without your ownership, however untamed it looks.

Anyone overrun by his own thoughts can take quiet reassurance from this. The herd is large, but the pasture is you, and the pasture is never in danger of being lost. The states rise and roam and settle by turns. The consciousness that owns them all stays whole beneath the traffic. A man possesses far more than he counts.

  1. The next time an anxious thought arrives, do not argue with it or push it away. Let it graze, and remind yourself the field it is standing in is you and is not going anywhere.
  2. When someone unloads their worst mood on you, hold the room instead of matching them. You can afford to, because the pasture is bigger than the herd.
  3. In the middle of a day where your head is crowded, twelve tabs, three threads, something unresolved at home, say quietly that all of this is grazing inside you and none of it owns you. You hold far more than you have been counting.

How much calmer would today be if you remembered you are the field and not the stampede?

Zen

Thoughts are clouds crossing the sky. The sky is never harmed by weather, and it is never not the sky.

Bhagavad Gita 2

The self is untouched by what passes through it, not cut by weapons, not burned by fire. The states come and go, the ground does not.

He wrote that the mind can keep its own clear nature no matter what moves across it, like a spring that keeps running sweet even when mud is thrown in.
