This is the Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show to his servants the things which must happen soon, which he sent and made known by his angel to his servant, John,

What does Revelation 1:1 mean?

An unveiling is an uncovering of what was always present but hidden, the anointed awareness within lifting its own veil so consciousness can see itself at last. It is signified, given in signs and images rather than plain speech, because the deep things of the body and the mind travel in symbol.

An unveiling is an uncovering of what was always present but hidden, the anointed awareness within lifting its own veil so consciousness can see itself at last. It is signified, given in signs and images rather than plain speech, because the deep things of the body and the mind travel in symbol. John is the receiving mind, the faculty that takes down the vision and holds it. What must shortly come to pass is not a distant calendar of nations but the near, ripening change inside the one who is ready.

The whole account is a message the higher self sends downward into ordinary awareness, wrapped in figures so it survives the passage. It comes soon because it is already stirring in the person who can read it.

Live Revelation 1:1 today

  1. Before the phone in the morning, give yourself two minutes with your eyes open and nothing playing. Do not try to get anywhere. Let something that was already there come up.
  2. Listen to one person today for what they are not saying out loud. The real message usually comes sideways, in a pause or a change of subject.
  3. When something irritates you at work, stay with it an extra beat instead of reacting. Irritation usually covers something true that is trying to show itself.

What have you been half seeing lately that is waiting for you to look straight at it?

Zen

The moon has been shining the whole time, the clouds were the only news. Awakening uncovers rather than adds.

Upanishads

The face of truth is covered by a golden lid, and the asking is for that cover to be drawn back. What is sought is not far away, only veiled.

Sufism · Rumi

Your work is not to go looking for love but to take down the walls you built against it. The removing is the whole task.
