EGO & BEING

Ego v. Being

There is that which is, and which was, and which is to come. This is not a being located somewhere in time but the timeless presence in which all time appears. Past and future are only thoughts arising now. What truly is was here before them and remains when they dissolve.

Grace and peace do not reach you from a distant heaven. They flow from that eternal dimension the moment you step out of the mind's endless movement between memory and anticipation. When you rest in the presence that always is, you receive them directly, because you are no longer separated from their source.

The 7 churches are the 7 energy centers of the body, the gathering-places of force ranged along the spine, and the message is sent to all of them at once because the whole inner temple must be addressed together. The number 7 symbolizes completion, the full set of centers from base to crown that make one finished man.

The 7 Spirits standing before the throne are the living powers of those same centers, active before the highest seat within. What appears as a letter to distant congregations is a word spoken inward to every level of a single person's own body.

The 7 churches: the 7 energy centers along the spine, the assemblies of force within the body. The number 7: completion, the full set of inner centers from base to crown forming one whole man. The throne: the highest seat within, the crown center before which the inner powers stand. The 7 Spirits: the living forces of the body's centers, active before the highest seat.

SUFISM

Sufism

My mercy outruns my anger: mercy arrives before any reckoning God speaks this line in a saying the Prophet passed on. When correction is on its way, a person braces, and the bracing shuts them down before a single word lands. Mercy handed over first keeps someone open, so that whatever follows can land as care.

Sakīna: The calm that settles into a heart Sakīna names the quiet that comes down into a person and stays there. Small groups under pressure burn most of their energy managing fear, and fear rarely gives way to good arguments. The steadiness meant here arrives from outside them, which is why it can hold even when nothing about their circumstances improves.

Al-Awwal wa al-Ākhir wa al-Ẓāhir wa al-Bāṭin: The First, the Last, the Outward, the Inward The Quran gives these four names for God in a single line, and Ibn Arabi returns to them constantly. People tend to split God across time: reliable back then, promised later on, hard to locate today. Taking all four together closes those gaps, and a person stops waiting for God to show up in some better season.

Al-ʿArsh: The Throne In the Quran, the one settled on the Throne is named the All-Merciful. So the highest seat of power is held by mercy, which changes what a person braces for when they imagine being seen from above. Someone who pictures the top of everything as cold will look for somewhere to hide; mercy at the top makes being looked at bearable.

Al-Malaʾ al-Aʿlā: The Highest Assembly This is the Quran's name for the ranks of spirits that stay near God without turning away. Their worship never pauses and never needed anyone's help to get going. A handful of people who feel outnumbered are joining something already underway, not starting it from scratch.

Live Revelation 1:4 today

  1. Sometime today, before you unlock your phone, let your hand rest on it for three breaths. Let the pull toward what happened earlier and what comes next settle, and start from the quiet underneath it.
  2. When someone is talking to you, give them the part of you that is not already drafting a reply. Let your attention be simple and whole, and see what arrives between you that was not there before.
  3. When the day turns tense, a backed up inbox, a meeting running long, traffic that is not moving, let your attention drop into your breathing for a few seconds. The pressure is still there, but you are no longer being dragged by it.

What is still here in me when I stop reaching backward and forward?

He told himself that nothing is lost but the present instant, since the past is already spent and the future has not been handed to anyone. Peace comes from living in the only piece of time you actually hold.
