Revelation 11:11 · World English Bible
After the three and a half days, the breath of life from God entered into them, and they stood on their feet. Great fear fell on those who saw them.
There is a dying that must happen before real life can begin, the falling away of who you thought you were. For a time it can feel like an ending, as though nothing living remains in you.
From the Ego v. Being reading below.
The same verse, read by 2 traditions.

EGO & BEING
There is a dying that must happen before real life can begin, the falling away of who you thought you were. For a time it can feel like an ending, as though nothing living remains in you. Then the breath of Being moves in, and you rise, more alive than the mind ever allowed you to be.
Those still asleep often feel afraid when they meet such aliveness in another. Your presence quietly exposes the emptiness of a life lived only in thought, and the ego recoils from what it cannot control. Their fear is simply the mind sensing something real and not knowing what to do with it.

ESOTERIC
The 2 witnesses lying dead and then rising are the pair of inner powers, the higher and lower currents, that seem to die in a person before the breath of life returns to them. The 3 and a half is the broken half of 7, the incomplete span, the midpoint of trial where the work appears finished and lost. When the spirit of life enters, the dormant powers stand upright again, the raised state moving from the base of the spine to full stature.
The fear that falls on the onlookers is the shock of the ordinary mind seeing in itself what it had counted dead come alive. Standing on the feet is the awakened force established through the whole body at last.
The 2 witnesses: the paired higher and lower currents in a person that seem to die before life returns to them 3 and a half: the broken half of 7, the incomplete span, the midpoint of trial where the work looks lost Standing upon their feet: the raised inner force established upright through the whole body from base to crown
Ego v. Being lens
Who would you be if you stopped defending the version of yourself you present?
When his wife died he did not mourn, because he saw one season turning into the next. What looks like an ending is a change of form.
Die to the self you keep defending and you will find you were never alive until now. The grain has to be ground before it becomes bread.
There is no solid self in there to protect. Letting go of that fiction is not a loss, it is the beginning of freedom.
