Revelation 11:13 Meaning In That Day There Was a Great

In that day there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell. Seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the rest were terrified, and gave glory to the God of heaven.

What does Revelation 11:13 mean?

A shaking runs through the whole of a person's awareness, and the tenth part of the city falls. The city is consciousness, and the tenth part is the carnal 10 percent, the portion the flesh withholds.

Esoteric

A shaking runs through the whole of a person's awareness, and the tenth part of the city falls. The city is consciousness, and the tenth part is the carnal 10 percent, the portion the flesh withholds. Losing it is the true tithe: not money given, but the lower mind surrendered, shaken loose and let go so the rest can stand.

What survives the quake is left trembling and turns at last to give glory to the God of heaven. That God is the photon, the light coming through the pineal gland, the messenger particle that carries the higher word into a person. The carnal share collapses; the remnant, stripped and afraid, faces the light it had been hiding from. This is what an earthquake means in the body. The ground of the old mind gives way, and only what can hold the photon is left standing.

City: the whole consciousness a person has built and lives inside. Tenth part: the carnal 10 percent of the mind, the portion the flesh withholds and the true tithe surrenders. God of heaven: the photon, the light through the pineal gland, the messenger particle carrying the higher word.

Live Revelation 11:13 today

  1. Find the one habit you would least like to give up today, the scroll, the second drink, the hour of noise, and drop it for just this day without replacing it with something else.
  2. Tell one person the honest thing you have been smoothing over. Something in you will go down with it, and the rest of you will stand straighter for the next conversation.
  3. When today shakes you, a hard email, bad news, a plan collapsing, let it take what it takes and resist patching the ground back the way it was. Ask instead what in you can still hold weight.

What part of my life would fall away if I stopped defending it, and would I actually miss it?

Tao Te Ching 48

In the ordinary way of learning you add every day. In the way of the deep life you subtract every day, and keep subtracting until what is left can act on its own.

Buddhism

The teaching of letting go says the suffering is not in what we lose but in the grip. When the grip finally breaks, usually by force, what remains is lighter than what we were holding.

Stoicism · Marcus Aurelius

He said to strip things of the stories we drape over them and look at what is actually left. The loss of what was never really ours does not take anything from us.
