Revelation 12:3 Meaning Another Sign Was Seen in Heaven

Another sign was seen in heaven. Behold, a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his heads seven crowns.

What does Revelation 12:3 mean?

The animal force in a person rises up red with blood and appetite, and it wears the very centers meant for spirit as if they were its own. The number 7 counts the sacred energy centers along the spine, and here the dragon crowns each one, meaning the lower drives have seized the seats of consciousness and rule from them.

The animal force in a person rises up red with blood and appetite, and it wears the very centers meant for spirit as if they were its own. The number 7 counts the sacred energy centers along the spine, and here the dragon crowns each one, meaning the lower drives have seized the seats of consciousness and rule from them. The 10 horns are the pushing power of the senses turned outward, the strength by which desire gores its way through a life.

The heaven where this happens is the inner sky of the head, not a distant place; the war is between the reptile brain at the base and the higher mind above. What appears as a monster in the story is the untamed vitality inside anyone, gorgeous and dangerous, seated for now where the divine was meant to reign.

Dragon: the raw reptilian life-force coiled at the base of the spine, red with blood and hunger 7 heads: the 7 energy centers along the spine, here captured and ruled by the lower nature 10 horns: the outward thrusting force of the senses, the power by which craving pushes through a person 7 crowns: the seats of higher consciousness usurped, dominion handed over to the animal drives Heaven: the inner sky within the skull where the higher and lower minds contend

Live Revelation 12:3 today

  1. Name the appetite that most often takes the wheel for you, food, a screen, attention, anger, and let yourself feel its pull once today without feeding it. You are meeting it, not killing it.
  2. With one person, catch the moment you want something from them, agreement, admiration, reassurance, and just be with them instead of angling for it.
  3. When pressure spikes and the fast reaction starts rising from your gut, count three breaths before you speak or send. That gap is the whole question of who is sitting on the throne.

Which hunger in me is currently making my decisions, and what would it be like to give it a seat lower down?

The same truth in other traditions

Bhagavad Gita

Desire is described as the smoke that hides the fire, the dust that hides a mirror. It is not an enemy from outside but your own power wearing the crown.

Buddhism

The teaching of the hungry mind says craving is never satisfied by being fed, only enlarged. Each feeding hands it more of the house.

Tao Te Ching 33

Mastering others takes force. Mastering yourself takes strength, and that is the real power. The same energy that drags a person can carry them.
