Revelation 16:16 · World English Bible
He gathered them together into the place which is called in Hebrew, “Megiddo”.
The gathering happens inside one skull, where every scattered force of the mind is pulled to a single field for the last contest. Armageddon opens as Har Megiddo, the mount of Megiddo, and Megiddo carries the sense of a place of troops, of cutting and gathering.

ESOTERIC
The gathering happens inside one skull, where every scattered force of the mind is pulled to a single field for the last contest. Armageddon opens as Har Megiddo, the mount of Megiddo, and Megiddo carries the sense of a place of troops, of cutting and gathering. That mount is the crown of the head, the high ground of the brain, and the assembling armies are the warring thoughts and desires that have run loose through a life. They are not marched to a plain in the East. They are drawn up to the top of the skull, where flesh and spirit meet for the decisive struggle.
Every inner conflict a person has avoided collects at last in this one high place, and there the outcome of a whole inner life is settled.
Armageddon: the mount at the crown of the head, the high ground of the brain where the mind's opposing forces mass for their final struggle The gathered ones: the loose thoughts, appetites, and drives of a lifetime, drawn up together for the decisive contest

What have I been refusing to face, and where is it piling up inside me while I wait?
The great battle is set on a field, and the real enemies named are a person's own anger, craving, and confusion. The war you have been avoiding was always internal.
Mara's armies came, every fear and desire at once, and the answer was to stay seated and touch the ground. The whole contest happened in one still person.
No outside event defeats you, only your own judgment about it. The fight is never on the battlefield you are staring at.
