Revelation 18:1 Meaning After These Things

After these things, I saw another angel coming down out of the sky, having great authority. The earth was illuminated with his glory.

What does Revelation 18:1 mean?

The angel descending is an angle of light, a measured beam coming down from Uranus, the heaven of the outer sky, and its great power is the inner energy and potential now arriving in a person. This is not a winged messenger of far-off legend but a geometry of radiance reaching the mind, present in the awareness of the one who receives it now.

This is not a winged messenger of far-off legend but a geometry of radiance reaching the mind, present in the awareness of the one who receives it now.

The earth lightened with glory is the mind flooded with that descending brightness, the whole field of ordinary thought lit from above. When the angle of light comes down, the mind that was dim fills with the higher radiance and sees by it.

Angel: an angle, a measured beam of light descending rather than a winged being Heaven: Uranus, the outer sky from which the light comes down Earth: the mind, the field of ordinary thought lit by the descending brightness

Live Revelation 18:1 today

  1. Step outside for two minutes today with no phone and let actual daylight land on your face. Clarity often arrives through the body before it arrives as a thought.
  2. Tell one person something true and good about them that you have been thinking but never said out loud. Watch what it does to the air between you.
  3. In the middle of a stressful afternoon, stop and look up, literally, at the ceiling or the sky, for ten seconds. It interrupts the tunnel and lets something wider back in.

When was the last time my mind felt clear, and what was I doing right before?

The moon shines on every pond that is still enough to hold it. The light was never withheld, the surface was simply moving.

What you are looking for is already looking at you. The opening you wait for is not far away, it is pressing at a door you keep closed.

Hinduism · Upanishads

The light by which you see everything else is the one thing you never look at directly. Turn toward it and the whole field of thought is lit by it.
