PSYCHOANALYSIS

Psychoanalysis

The morning star rises while the sky is still dark. It is the first light, showing before the sun. Inwardly it stands for something that forms in a person only after a long struggle with their own dark side, the parts they would rather disown.

The promise goes to the one who keeps going through that struggle. What they receive is not a reward from outside. It is a steady center within them, a light of their own to steer by. After facing your own darkness, a small point of light forms inside, and it becomes what guides you.

  1. Instead of distracting yourself from the thing about yourself you least like, sit with it for five minutes tonight without fixing or excusing it. Just let it be true.
  2. Tell one person something small you are ashamed of. The moment it stops being a secret, it stops running you.
  3. When your worst reflex shows up under pressure, the snapping, the shutting down, the sarcasm, name it silently in the moment instead of defending it. That naming is the first point of light.

What have you been refusing to look at in yourself, and what might it be trying to give you?
