Revelation 20:13 Meaning The Sea Gave Up the Dead

The sea gave up the dead who were in it. Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them. They were judged, each one according to his works.

What does Revelation 20:13 mean?

When awareness rises within, the churning emotional nature loses its grip and surrenders what it has been holding down. The passions that once ruled the personality, the buried angers and cravings that lay like dead weight in the depths, are lifted up and can no longer drag a person under.

When awareness rises within, the churning emotional nature loses its grip and surrenders what it has been holding down. The passions that once ruled the personality, the buried angers and cravings that lay like dead weight in the depths, are lifted up and can no longer drag a person under. This is what happens in the stillness before the inner seat of judgment: the feeling nature gives back its captives.

The lower conditions of the body release what they had swallowed as well, and each stored state is weighed only by what it produced in a life, not by any name it wore. Nothing is punished for its label. Every buried thing is brought into the light and measured by its actual fruit.

The sea: the churning emotional nature, the restless ocean of desire where the passions hold their dead Death and hell: the lower conditions of the body, giving back the states they had swallowed

Live Revelation 20:13 today

  1. Sit still for five minutes without your phone and let whatever surfaces surface. An old anger, a craving, a grudge you thought you were over. Let it come up and look at it plainly.
  2. In a group chat or at dinner, when an old irritation flares at someone, say what you actually feel instead of the sharp version. Bringing it into words is what lifts it.
  3. Stuck in traffic or in a long line, watch the surge of impatience rise. Do not fight it, just watch where it came from and what it wants you to do.

What have I been carrying so long that I stopped calling it a weight?

Muddy water clears when it is left still. The depths give up what they are holding when you stop stirring them.

What is buried in the mind does not vanish, it waits. Bring it into clear attention and it loses the power to pull you under.
