Revelation 21:18 · World English Bible
The construction of its wall was jasper. The city was pure gold, like pure glass.
The finished self is described as a structure of pure light, and every part of it names a state reached inside a person. The wall of jasper is the boundary of a settled consciousness, hard and clear, protecting the awakened field from the disorder outside it.

ESOTERIC
The finished self is described as a structure of pure light, and every part of it names a state reached inside a person. The wall of jasper is the boundary of a settled consciousness, hard and clear, protecting the awakened field from the disorder outside it. The city is the whole ordered assembly of thought and feeling raised into gold, the highest refinement of mind, and its being like clear glass means nothing in it is hidden or clouded any longer. This is awareness made transparent, where the light passes straight through without shadow because the flesh has been purified into spirit.
The city of gold is a person whose inner life has become wholly clear, holding nothing back from its own sight.
Wall of jasper: the firm bright boundary of a settled consciousness, guarding the awakened field from the disorder outside City: the whole ordered assembly of thoughts and feelings raised into their highest refinement Gold: the perfected light of mind, value purified out of the coarse into the fine Clear glass: awareness made fully transparent, holding no shadow or hidden thing
Esoteric lens
What am I still keeping in shadow, even from myself?
A settled mind is described as still water: it has a clear surface and a firm bed, and it hides nothing at the bottom. You can see all the way down because nothing is stirred up.
The sage's heart is called a clear mirror that neither grasps nor pushes away. It is bounded and quiet, and that is exactly why nothing in it is clouded.
The refining of the mind is likened to working gold, heating it again and again until the impurities lift away. What is left is both soft enough to be worked and bright enough to see by.
