Revelation 21:25 Meaning Its Gates Will in No Way Be

Its gates will in no way be shut by day (for there will be no night there),

What does Revelation 21:25 mean?

In the fully awakened state, the ways into the higher self stand permanently open. The gates are the entrances of consciousness, the points where awareness passes into the illumined center, and they are never closed because the fear and division that once made a person guard those entrances have dissolved.

Esoteric

In the fully awakened state, the ways into the higher self stand permanently open. The gates are the entrances of consciousness, the points where awareness passes into the illumined center, and they are never closed because the fear and division that once made a person guard those entrances have dissolved. Night is the condition of unknowing, the darkness of the self that has not yet come to light, and in this realized state it simply is not present.

What this describes is a being with nothing left to defend. When the inner light has fully risen, there is no darkness to shut the doors against, so the whole self remains open and undivided, lit through without interruption.

Live Revelation 21:25 today

  1. Find the one place you are braced today, shoulders, jaw, the knot in your chest, and ask what you are defending there. Let it soften for one full minute and see if anything bad actually happens.
  2. Let someone in a little further than usual, tell them the part you normally leave out. Being open with one person is how you find out that openness is not dangerous.
  3. When criticism comes at you today, in an email, a review, a comment from family, listen without getting your guard up. You can still disagree later, but hear it first with the door open.

What am I still guarding, and what is it actually costing me to keep that door shut?

Tao Te Ching 22

The one who does not defend themselves has nothing left for anyone to attack. What is undefended turns out to be what cannot be taken.

Stoicism · Marcus Aurelius

He noted that no one can harm what is truly yours, your own judgments and your own will. Once you see that, the walls you were keeping up become unnecessary.

Buddhism

Fear is traced back to clinging: wherever there is something you must hold onto, there is a door you must guard. Let the grip go and the fear has nothing to stand on.
