Romans 10:12 Meaning For There Is No Distinction Between Jew

For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, and is rich to all who call on him.

What does Romans 10:12 mean?

One Lord for everyone means the faith can never be a tribal possession. Whatever a person's ancestry, language, or earlier religion, the same God is being addressed, and no group gets a shorter line or a better seat.

One Lord for everyone means the faith can never be a tribal possession. Whatever a person's ancestry, language, or earlier religion, the same God is being addressed, and no group gets a shorter line or a better seat. This is where the word catholic comes from: universal, meant for all.

God's generosity is also not a limited supply that thins out as more people arrive, so another person's welcome costs you nothing. Treating a newcomer as a guest rather than family is the oldest failure in any congregation, and nothing in the faith supports it.

Live Romans 10:12 today

  1. Think of one group of people you quietly feel superior to, and pray today for one actual person in it by name.
  2. When you are in a room or a thread where someone is new, go to them first. Learn their name, ask one real question, and introduce them to someone else.
  3. When someone's accent, politics, or background makes you want to dismiss them, slow down and give them the same patience you would want. Nothing about their welcome takes anything from yours.

Who have you been treating as a guest when they already belong as much as you do?
