EGO & BEING

Ego v. Being

Peace is not something you achieve by making yourself worthy through endless effort. That striving is the ego forever trying to become enough. Peace comes the moment you stop resisting what is and begin to trust the deeper current of life moving through you.

This trust is not belief in an idea but the surrender of the anxious self that thinks it must earn its place. When that self grows quiet, you feel the peace that was always beneath your thinking. You are no longer at war with this moment, and so you are at peace with the source of your life.

Live Romans 5:1 today

  1. Take one thing about today you cannot change, the weather, a delay, your own tiredness, and stop arguing with it for an hour.
  2. In a disagreement, let someone be wrong without correcting them. See whether the peace is worth more to you than the point.
  3. When a deadline or a hard email hits, feel the body tighten and let the breath out slowly before you act. Do the next step from there, not from the clench.

What am I still fighting that has already happened?
