What does Titus 3:5 mean?

Salvation comes by mercy, not by good conduct piled up as a claim. Righteousness here is not ritual but the felt awareness of already being what a person longs to be, and even that is a gift and not a wage.

MANIFESTATION

Manifestation

Salvation comes by mercy, not by good conduct piled up as a claim. Righteousness here is not ritual but the felt awareness of already being what a person longs to be, and even that is a gift and not a wage. The washing of regeneration is the basin that renews the reborn man, the inner event that brings out the new self, not water poured on the outside.

Regeneration is that new man himself. The renewing by the Spirit is the breath of awareness making him over from within. A person is not rescued by adding up what he has done. He is remade when the creative power in him gives birth to a self that was never earned, only received.

  1. Sometime today, stop adding up your day as a case for your own worth. Sit for two minutes and let yourself be fine already, with nothing proved.
  2. Tell someone close to you one good thing about them that has nothing to do with what they produce or how useful they are. Watch their face.
  3. In the meeting where you feel you have to justify your place, let the scorekeeping drop. Speak from the person you already are instead of the record you are defending.
