The higher mind sends its moisture into a person during the closing age, when the old religious order is falling of its own weight and truth must come fresh rather than through inherited law. Rain here is the descent of spirit into the dry ground of thought, and it comes in its own season, the latter one, when the mind is parched and ready.

ESOTERIC
The higher mind sends its moisture into a person during the closing age, when the old religious order is falling of its own weight and truth must come fresh rather than through inherited law. Rain here is the descent of spirit into the dry ground of thought, and it comes in its own season, the latter one, when the mind is parched and ready. What waters the field is not doctrine handed down but the unseen life stirring behind the clouds, releasing understanding directly into each life that turns inward and asks.
The grass is the ordinary growth that spirit raises everywhere at once, small and green across the whole world of the mind, so that no field is passed over and every person receives the same quiet nourishment.
Rain: the spirit descending into the dry ground of the thinking mind, softening it for new growth Bright clouds: the unseen realm of spirit gathering behind the surface, holding the water it is about to release Field: the world of the mind, the ground where thoughts take root and grow Grass: the plain, common growth spirit raises in a person, small and living rather than grand
Esoteric lens
Where am I dry today, and have I actually asked for anything, or just waited?
Water takes the lowest place and that is exactly why it nourishes everything. It does not choose which ground deserves it, it simply goes where things are dry.
The tradition insists on tasting the water yourself rather than taking the teacher's word for it. Inherited doctrine is a cup, the drink has to be your own.
He said the thirst in you is itself the water calling. The asking is not separate from the answer, it is the beginning of it.
