1 Corinthians 12:27 · World English Bible
Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually.
You do not have to dissolve into sameness to belong to the whole. Your particular form, your gifts, the exact shape of your presence, these are not obstacles to unity.
From the Ego v. Being reading below.
The same verse, read by one tradition.

EGO & BEING
You do not have to dissolve into sameness to belong to the whole. Your particular form, your gifts, the exact shape of your presence, these are not obstacles to unity. They are how the one life expresses itself through you and nowhere else.
The ego imagines that belonging means losing yourself, and so it clings to separation. But you are like a single cell in a living body, wholly yourself and wholly part of something greater at the same time. When you awaken to this, your individuality is not erased. It is fulfilled, because for the first time it serves the larger being it was always meant to express.
Ego v. Being lens

Better to do your own work imperfectly than to do another person's well. Your particular shape of life is the one place the whole can act through you.
The crooked tree was called useless and so the axe left it standing, and it gave shade for a hundred years. Nothing is asked to become a different shape to be of use.
A rebbe taught that every person should carry two notes: one saying the world was made for your sake, one saying you are dust. Both at once, and neither one alone.
