1 Corinthians 6:16 Meaning Or Don’t You Know That He
Or don’t you know that he who is joined to a prostitute is one body? For, “The two”, he says, “will become one flesh.”

1 Corinthians 6:16 · World English Bible
Or don’t you know that he who is joined to a prostitute is one body? For, “The two”, he says, “will become one flesh.”
Whatever the mind joins itself to, it becomes one body with, and to fasten consciousness onto the lower appetites is to fuse the self to them until they share a single flesh. The body is meant as the temple of the holy ghost, yet it takes the form of whatever it unites with, so union with the harlot of the senses drags the whole temple down into that low register.

ESOTERIC
Whatever the mind joins itself to, it becomes one body with, and to fasten consciousness onto the lower appetites is to fuse the self to them until they share a single flesh. The body is meant as the temple of the holy ghost, yet it takes the form of whatever it unites with, so union with the harlot of the senses drags the whole temple down into that low register.
The number 2 is the number of secrets, the split between spirit and flesh that longs to resolve into one. When the 2 become one flesh, the direction of the joining decides everything: bound to the sense-nature, the temple loses its light; the point is that a person becomes what they merge their consciousness into.
Body: the temple of the holy ghost, the flesh built to house the light of consciousness Harlot: the lower sense-nature and its appetites that the mind can fuse itself onto 2: the number of secrets, the division of spirit and flesh seeking to become one
Esoteric lens
What have I been merging myself into without ever choosing it?
What you dwell on, you become, because the mind takes the shape of its habits. Thought repeated turns into character without asking permission.
Attention turned toward the senses binds a person to them, and the one who keeps feeding appetite is slowly owned by it. Where you place the mind decides what you are made of.
You will come to resemble whatever you spend your time with, so choose company and habits the way you would choose food. Nothing you join stays outside you.
