1 John 1:6 Meaning If We Say That We Have Fellowship
If we say that we have fellowship with him and walk in the darkness, we lie, and don’t tell the truth.

1 John 1:6 · World English Bible
If we say that we have fellowship with him and walk in the darkness, we lie, and don’t tell the truth.
You can declare that you are one with the divine, that you walk in the light. But if you still live lost in your head, ruled by reaction and the endless commentary of the mind, you are walking in darkness whatever you claim.

EGO & BEING
You can declare that you are one with the divine, that you walk in the light. But if you still live lost in your head, ruled by reaction and the endless commentary of the mind, you are walking in darkness whatever you claim.
Truth here is not a belief you hold or a sentence you repeat. It is a way of being present. Union with the source is not announced but lived, in how awake you are to this moment. When your words say light and your life runs on unconsciousness, the two do not meet, and the claim is empty.

CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY
A man can claim allegiance to the highest good and still order his days around resentment, deceit, and the small betrayals he tells himself do not count. The claim costs nothing. His walking reveals him, because conduct is belief made visible, and no declaration survives contact with a life that contradicts it.
What a person professes and what he enacts must be the same thing, or the distance between them rots him from within. The lie he tells is worse than deceiving his neighbor. He builds his whole identity on words his own hands refuse to honor. Claim to love the light, then act in a way you would be ashamed to have seen.
Ego v. Being lens
Where does my life quietly disagree with what I say about it?
The one who truly knows does not talk about it, and the one who talks about it does not know. The living reality shows up as a way of being, not as a claim.
Epictetus told his students not to explain their philosophy but to embody it, the way a sheep does not show the shepherd how much it has eaten but simply produces wool. Your life, not your words, is the evidence.
There is an old warning that you cannot eat a painted rice cake. A true description of awakening still leaves you hungry if you only hold it in your mind.
