2 Timothy 4:6 · World English Bible
For I am already being offered, and the time of my departure has come.
To be ready for your departure is to have made peace with the falling away of form. The mind recoils from death because it senses the end of everything it has taken itself to be: the roles, the story, the accumulated sense of me.

EGO & BEING
To be ready for your departure is to have made peace with the falling away of form. The mind recoils from death because it senses the end of everything it has taken itself to be: the roles, the story, the accumulated sense of me. All of that does dissolve.
Yet the one who calmly says the time is at hand has found something death does not touch. When you know yourself as the awareness in which your life has been appearing, and not as the passing form, dying is no longer the end of you. You are ready to be offered because you have found what you truly are, and it is not the part that falls away.

MANIFESTATION
The departure spoken of here is no ordinary move from one mood to another, no small trading of one state of mind for a better one. A man who has fought the good fight comes to the end of the entire dream of being human. He steps out of the whole age by grace, not by his own strength. That leaving is the final resurrection.
When the son appears within, the sleeper wakes, and he wakes as God the Father himself. The offering is the giving up of the mortal part so the immortal can stand free. To depart is to finish the play and walk off the stage entirely. What remains awake is the Father who was dreaming the man all along. The dream ends. The dreamer stays.
Ego v. Being lens
What would I do differently today if I truly knew my form was temporary?
You could leave life this moment, so let that shape how you act and speak now. Readiness is not gloom, it is a kind of clarity.
He did not mourn death, seeing it as one more turn in the seasons that made him. To rage against it is to quarrel with the way things move.
What truly is cannot cease to be, and what is passing was never the lasting thing. Grief lives in confusing the two.
