Acts 1:8 Meaning But You Will Receive Power When

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you. You will be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the uttermost parts of the earth.

What does Acts 1:8 mean?

MANIFESTATION

Manifestation

The power a person receives is the awakening of his own imagination to its creative nature. The Holy Ghost coming upon him is that awareness stirring to life from within. To witness is not to argue a doctrine but to know from experience that the maker of one's world was oneself all along. Jerusalem, Judaea, Samaria and the uttermost parts are not lands abroad but circles of a person's own life, from the innermost state outward to the farthest reach of his affairs.

The unfolding moves from the center outward. First the inner conviction, then its spread through everything a person touches. A person becomes a witness when the truth stops being a belief and becomes something he has undergone. What he has awakened to within, he then sees confirmed in every part of the world around him.

Live Acts 1:8 today

  1. Before the day starts, settle one thing inside yourself about who you are today. Then watch how your inbox and your calls land differently, without you managing anyone.
  2. When you talk to someone close to you, don't make your case or push your view. Just speak from what you actually know firsthand and let that be enough.
  3. In a meeting where you feel small, hold the inner picture of yourself as steady and capable. Your voice, your pace and your answers will follow it before anyone in the room can tell what changed.

What do I actually know from experience, not just believe?

The self you are looking for is the one looking. Knowing that is not information you were told, it is something that happens to you.

To taste water is to know it is wet. Nobody can argue you out of what you have actually drunk.

Tao Te Ching 54

What is settled at the center spreads outward on its own: into the home, then the neighborhood, then the whole country. The order is always inside first.
