Acts 1:9 Meaning When He Had Said These Things

When he had said these things, as they were looking, he was taken up, and a cloud received him out of their sight.

What does Acts 1:9 mean?

The rising of the Christ is the lifting of consciousness up the spine and out of the range of the ordinary senses. To be taken up while they behold is the moment awareness leaves the lower centers where the eyes still look and climbs into the head, passing beyond what the outer mind can track.

The rising of the Christ is the lifting of consciousness up the spine and out of the range of the ordinary senses. To be taken up while they behold is the moment awareness leaves the lower centers where the eyes still look and climbs into the head, passing beyond what the outer mind can track. The cloud that receives him is the veil of unknowing at the top of the body, the mist a person enters when consciousness rises past thought.

The watching disciples are the faculties left standing below, staring at the place where the higher self disappeared into the cloud of the crown, still bound to the ground of the senses.

Live Acts 1:9 today

  1. Sometime today, close your eyes for a minute and let your attention drift up from your chest to the space behind your forehead. If it goes vague and quiet up there, stay with the vagueness instead of pulling back down to something solid.
  2. When someone you love goes quiet mid-conversation, let them be gone for a moment. Do not fill the gap with a question. They have stepped inward, and the kindest thing is to wait at the edge of it.
  3. In a meeting or a hard phone call, when your mind starts racing after an answer, drop the chase for three breaths. Let the thinking go above your eyes and out of your own tracking, and see what arrives once you stop staring at the place where you lost it.

What have you given up on because you could no longer see where it went?
