Amos 3:8 · World English Bible

Amos 3:8 Meaning The Lion Has Roared

The lion has roared. Who will not fear? The Lord Yahweh has spoken. Who can but prophesy?

What does Amos 3:8 mean?

Deliberation is proof the thing in front of you has not gotten close enough to be real yet. Anything real enough moves a body before the mind gets a vote, and that reflex is the measure of whether a summons has landed.

Self-Help

Deliberation is proof the thing in front of you has not gotten close enough to be real yet.

Anything real enough moves a body before the mind gets a vote, and that reflex is the measure of whether a summons has landed. Whatever still permits a list of pros and cons is being heard from far enough away to stay theoretical.

Most people handle what the Lord Yahweh has spoken as information, and information can be weighed for years without costing anything. Heard as a roar is heard, the same words set a state that has to come out as speech. Anyone who can still choose whether to speak is standing at a distance where nothing in their life has to change.

Live Amos 3:8 today

  1. Think of the thing you have been weighing for months. If it is still a pros and cons list, you are standing too far from it, so go closer and look at what is actually at stake.
  2. Tell one person the thing you keep almost saying. If you can still comfortably choose not to say it, say it anyway and see what moves.
  3. When something lands on you in the middle of an ordinary day, in traffic or the grocery line, do not file it for later. Act on it in some small way within the hour.

What have you been treating as information that was meant to change how you live?
