Daniel 2:30 · World English Bible

Daniel 2:30 Meaning But as for Me

But as for me, this secret is not revealed to me for any wisdom that I have more than any living, but to the intent that the interpretation may be made known to the king, and that you may know the thoughts of your heart.

What does Daniel 2:30 mean?

This is not revealed to me for any wisdom that I have. When true insight comes, it does not arise from the personal self, from the accumulated knowledge the ego is so proud of.

EGO & BEING

Ego v. Being

This is not revealed to me for any wisdom that I have. When true insight comes, it does not arise from the personal self, from the accumulated knowledge the ego is so proud of. It comes from a deeper stillness, and the one through whom it flows knows that he is not its author.

The wise take no credit, because they see that the small self was never the source. And what such insight finally offers is not clever answers but this: that you might know the thoughts of your own heart. To become aware of what moves quietly within you, the fears and longings beneath your thinking, is the beginning of real freedom.

Live Daniel 2:30 today

  1. Before you send a message you feel strongly about, ask what is actually pushing it, hurt, fear, wanting to look right. Then decide whether to send it.
  2. The next time you are praised for something, pass real credit to whoever helped, and mean it. Needing the whole thing for yourself is heavier than it looks.
  3. When you are the one with the answer in a meeting, offer it without the performance around it. The idea is not less valuable for not being a trophy.

What is moving underneath my reactions today that I have not stopped to look at?

Tao Te Ching 2

The sage does the work and does not claim it, and because nothing is claimed, nothing is lost. Credit is the part that never belonged to anyone.

Zen

The good answer arrives before the clever mind can assemble it. The teacher is only the window the light came through.

Stoicism · Marcus Aurelius

He kept turning his attention inward to see what was really driving him. Knowing your own impulses, he said, is where any honest life begins.
