Sufism

Two groups once kept apart imagine the door to God is narrow enough for only one of them. That is the pride here, the appetite to belong while the other is shut out. The cure is to lay the claim down, since no one arrives by their own pedigree but through the one who opens the way.

Picture many streams reaching a single spring; at the source the water differs not at all. Near to each is the same Father, and near to both one Spirit, so what looked like two roads is one, and the dividing wall was only ever in their eyes.

Live Ephesians 2:18 today

  1. When you catch yourself mentally sorting people into the ones who get it and the ones who don't, stop and name one thing you and the person on the far side of that line both want. It is usually the same small thing.
  2. Today, say something warm to someone whose politics, church background, or group chat opinions you find hard. Not a debate, just a real question about their week, asked like you mean it.
  3. In a meeting or a thread where a side is forming, be the one who says what the other side gets right. Say it before you say your own part, and let it stand without a "but."

Where did I learn that the door was narrow, and who taught me I was already inside it?
