Ephesians 6:13 · World English Bible
Therefore put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
What a person puts on in calm decides what they are capable of on the worst day of their life. Preparation done in an ordinary week decides which emotion is available on the worst one, because under assault nobody invents a new state; a person drops to the one they have rehearsed.

SELF-HELP
What a person puts on in calm decides what they are capable of on the worst day of their life.
Preparation done in an ordinary week decides which emotion is available on the worst one, because under assault nobody invents a new state; a person drops to the one they have rehearsed. Believing the day is coming becomes a daily act of putting something on, the act builds a state that holds weight, and the state keeps someone on their feet when the hour ends.
The armour is issued rather than invented, and that is the leverage: certainty drawn from God holds where certainty built on a personal record cracks, since one bad hour can contradict a record. Standing is the whole standard, so the measure is whether a person is still upright and still themselves when the pressure lifts. Waiting for the evil day to announce itself before deciding who you will be hands the decision to fear.
