Exodus 16:14 Meaning When the Dew That Lay Had Gone

When the dew that lay had gone, behold, on the surface of the wilderness was a small round thing, small as the frost on the ground.

What does Exodus 16:14 mean?

The small round thing left on the ground once the dew lifts is manna, and manna is galactose, the brain sugar that feeds the higher mind, the same substance the old accounts tie to the mushroom and to the inner light that opens the head. It appears in the wilderness, in the barren and confused lower mind, precisely where a person has no store of their own and the food must come fresh from above.

The dew rising first is the single drop of self going back up into the ocean of consciousness from which it fell.

What is left behind, small and whole, is the mind's own nourishment, given in the dry place and gathered each day.

Dew: the single drop of the separate self returning up into the ocean of consciousness Small round thing: manna, the galactose or brain sugar that feeds the higher mind Wilderness: the barren, confused lower mind, the dry state where nothing grows on its own

Live Exodus 16:14 today

  1. Try one short stretch of the day with nothing playing. No podcast on the walk, no music in the kitchen. The dry quiet is where your own thoughts finally get a word in.
  2. When a friend brings you a problem, resist handing them your answer right away. Let there be a gap where you only listen, and watch what surfaces in them that you could not have supplied.
  3. On a day where you feel you have nothing left to give, do the next small thing anyway without borrowing from yesterday. What you need tends to show up fresh and just barely enough.

Where in your life are you so well stocked that nothing new can arrive?

Empty your cup first. A cup already full receives nothing, and the teaching only lands where there was room for it.

The usefulness of a bowl is the hollow inside it. What is absent is what makes the thing work.
