ESOTERIC
The leading power of the awakened will is told to move ahead of the crowd of ordinary faculties, taking with it the tested wisdom of long experience. Moses is the drawn-out higher self that guides the inner tribes, and the elders are the matured, seasoned energies that have earned their standing. The rod is the spine, the channel of directed force that once struck the river of the body's flowing life, and to take it in hand is to hold the axis of power consciously, ready to draw water from what looks like dead rock.
Advancing before the people with the rod in hand is inner authority stepping forward, carrying the disciplined spinal current that will bring supply out of hard circumstance.
Elders: the seasoned, matured energies inside a person, the tested wisdom that has earned its place Rod: the spine and its channel of directed force, the axis of power held consciously in the hand River: the flowing current of the body's life, the moving water within that the rod has already struck
