Genesis 1:11 Meaning God Said

God said, “Let the earth yield grass, herbs yielding seeds, and fruit trees bearing fruit after their kind, with their seeds in it, on the earth;” and it was so.

What does Genesis 1:11 mean?

Every state of mind carries its own harvest inside it, the way a seed already holds the tree. Nothing you assume comes out barren or comes out as something else.

MANIFESTATION

Manifestation

Every state of mind carries its own harvest inside it, the way a seed already holds the tree. Nothing you assume comes out barren or comes out as something else. It yields after its kind, faithfully, so a mood of poverty grows more of poverty and a settled sense of having grows more of having. The outcome is folded into the feeling from the start.

So the inner life is the whole of the matter. The ground is your consciousness, and it brings forth exactly what was planted, never a substitute. A man reaps the nature of the state he lived in, not the one he merely admired. The seed is in itself, and the earth withholds nothing it was given.

Live Genesis 1:11 today

  1. Before you start work today, check the mood you are actually carrying, not the one you planned on, because that is the one your whole day will grow out of.
  2. Walk into one conversation today already feeling generous toward the person, and see how different the hour is from the ones you enter braced for trouble.
  3. When a notification lands badly and the familiar dread starts, pause before replying and shift the feeling first, because whatever you answer from is what the exchange will turn into.

If today's mood is a seed, what are you planting without deciding to?

The same truth in other traditions

Dhammapada

Actions ripen into the shape of the mind that made them. What you keep thinking, you keep becoming, and the harvest matches the seed exactly.

Bhagavad Gita

Whatever a person is absorbed in at the moment of choosing, that is what carries them forward. The inner state travels with you and arrives as your circumstances.

Stoicism · Epictetus

No one picks figs in winter or gathers grapes the week they plant. The fruit comes, but it comes as what was planted, in its own time.
