Genesis 1:28 Meaning God Blessed Them

God blessed them. God said to them, “Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth, and subdue it. Have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the sky, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

What does Genesis 1:28 mean?

God here is your own awareness of being, the plain sense of I am that is the one creative power, and the blessing is the gift of that power to imagine and so to bring forth. To be fruitful and multiply is to conceive a state within and let it grow real; the earth you replenish is your own outer life, filled by what you first hold inside.

MANIFESTATION

Manifestation

God here is your own awareness of being, the plain sense of I am that is the one creative power, and the blessing is the gift of that power to imagine and so to bring forth. To be fruitful and multiply is to conceive a state within and let it grow real; the earth you replenish is your own outer life, filled by what you first hold inside.

Dominion over the fish of the sea, the fowl of the air and every moving thing is mastery over your own moods and passing thoughts, the darting feelings that rise and swim through you all day. They are meant to obey the awareness that watches them, not to rule it. This whole world is imagination, and a person becomes whatever he assumes himself to be. In plain words, you were made to govern your inner life, and what you settle on within becomes the world you walk in.

ESOTERIC

Esoteric

Dominion here is the mastery of consciousness over its own lower creatures, the whole descending scale of life within a single body. The fish of the sea are the thoughts and impulses that stir in the deep waters of the emotions, below the surface, where feeling breeds without light. The fowl of the air are the higher mental energies, the swift ideas that fly through the atmosphere of the mind. To be fruitful and multiply is not merely to bear children but to increase the powers of the awakened self, filling the whole earth of the body with ordered life and bringing every reactive force under the rule of the I AM. The earth to be replenished and subdued is the physical form itself, the ground a person stands in and must learn to govern.

What is granted is the calm command of the higher self over every appetite and thought that moves inside a person, so nothing in the body runs wild against the will.

Fish of the sea: the thoughts and impulses breeding in the deep waters of the emotions Fowl of the air: the higher mental energies, the swift ideas flying through the mind Earth: the physical body, the ground a person stands in and must learn to govern Every living thing: the whole scale of appetites and reactive forces the awakened self is to rule

CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY

Clinical Psychology

The blessing lands on the pair together, and it names their fruitfulness and their union as good, part of the original design rather than a later punishment. Man and woman stand as equals inside it, told to fill the world and order it. The words read more as a picture of how things are going to be than as a decree about how they ought to be, the ancient recognition that the creature who can shape its surroundings will inevitably do so.

To subdue and to have dominion has been badly read as a license to plunder. It means stewardship. Care for the earth the way a competent hand tends a walled garden, holding culture and wild nature in their proper balance. Whoever raises nature above the human ends up not protecting the earth but exploiting the people on it. Responsibility for the living world is the burden that comes with the power to command it.

Live Genesis 1:28 today

  1. Pick one small state you want to live in today, steady, unhurried, kind, and come back to it each time you catch yourself somewhere else.
  2. At dinner or on a call, let your own settled mood set the temperature rather than matching whoever is most wound up.
  3. When a message or deadline spikes your heart rate, name what is passing through you, then return to the mood you chose instead of being carried off by it.

What would your day feel like if your mood was something you set rather than something that happened to you?

No enemy does you the damage an untrained mind can do, and no ally helps you like a trained one. The work is inward, and the results are everywhere.
