A mind at peace does not grasp, because it knows there is enough. When the whole terrain lies open, the fearful belief in scarcity dissolves, and choosing where to stand no longer feels like a loss. To offer the other first pick is to release the need to win, and in that release the mind finds it has lost nothing.
This is forgiveness worn as generosity. The mind that steps aside has simply stopped defending a boundary that fear invented. Where the ego sees a line to be fought over, love sees room for both, and the quarrel ends the moment one mind stops believing its good depends on the other's lack.
Land: the field of experience the mind believes must be divided and defended, seen truly as abundant enough for all.
Left hand and right hand: the false choice between opposing positions, the sides fear draws so that two may be set against each other.
