Love looks upon a mind that imagines itself set apart and answers the imagined lack at once. The sense of being alone is the first whisper of separation, the belief that a self can exist cut off from everything.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY
Love looks upon a mind that imagines itself set apart and answers the imagined lack at once. The sense of being alone is the first whisper of separation, the belief that a self can exist cut off from everything. Yet the correction is already given before the fear can harden. A mind was never meant to stand by itself, and love supplies a companion presence so it can remember it is joined. What feels like a want is really a call, and the call is always heard.
The help that answers is not a second thing added from outside. It is the reminder, brought close, that this mind was created in relationship and cannot truly be alone.
Man: the mind that has begun to picture itself as one small self, standing apart from its Source. Help meet: the companion presence of love drawn near, the reminder that the mind is joined and was never solitary.
Christian Psychology lens
Where today did I decide I was on my own before I checked?
A person becomes a person through other people. What looks like a self standing alone is actually a knot in a net, and the net is what holds it.
Nothing arises on its own. Every apparent separate thing is held up by conditions and by everything else, so the feeling of being a solitary self is a misreading, not a fact.
The self is formed in relationship, in the small daily exchanges of care between people. Virtue is not something you grow alone in a room.
