CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY

Christian Psychology

When a mind stops arguing that the gift is impossible, the gift appears, and at the appointed hour rather than the one fear demanded. What the ego swore was too late brings forth new life precisely when love intended. The barrenness was never real; it was only a belief held against the self.

The old age is the settled conviction that hope has expired. Into that very belief something living is born, showing that no mind is ever too far gone to be answered.

Sarah: the part of the mind that thought itself finished, now bearing what it swore it could not. Abraham: the part that trusted the promise and held to it while doubt insisted otherwise. Son: the new perception born of acceptance, the fresh life trust brings into a mind that had counted itself done.

Live Genesis 21:2 today

  1. Catch yourself saying "I'm too old for that" or "that ship has sailed" today, even silently. Then do one small thing that contradicts it, five minutes is plenty.
  2. Tell one person about something you still want, out loud, the thing you usually joke about wanting. Saying it to a real face makes it harder to keep writing it off.
  3. When a deadline slips or a plan runs late and panic rises, let it be late. Do the next honest step at the pace it actually takes, instead of the pace fear demands.

What have I called too late for me, with no real evidence at all?

Things ripen in their season and nothing is gained by pulling at them. The one who stops forcing finds the harvest arrives anyway.

Zen

After years of insisting it was impossible, the student sees, and nothing had changed but the insisting. Spring does not wait for you to believe in it.

We suffer more in imagination than in reality, and the loudest voice says it is finished. It says that long before anything actually is.
