Genesis 29:2 Meaning He Looked
He looked, and behold, a well in the field, and saw three flocks of sheep lying there by it. For out of that well they watered the flocks. The stone on the well’s mouth was large.

The great stone upon its mouth is the block of the material mind, the heavy resistance of the flesh that seals the opening and keeps the living water from rising freely to the surface. The number 3 in the flocks is the threefold nature of the person, body and soul and spirit, the whole being gathered and waiting to be watered from that one source. The flocks lying by the well are the faculties at rest around their supply, unable to drink until the stone is moved. The field is the wide ground of the outer life where the seeker comes searching for the hidden spring.
What is met inside a person is the buried source of life covered by the weight of the lower mind, the whole threefold self gathered near it and waiting for that heavy stone to be rolled away.
