Esoteric

The dream shows the higher faculty within a person rising above the lower faculties and drawing their homage. The sheaves are gathered harvests of thought and effort, and to bind them in the field is the work of ordering the growth of the inner life. The sheaf that arises and stands upright is the awakening spiritual self, lifting itself erect while the others bow.

The surrounding sheaves that make obeisance are the many other powers of the mind, the reasoning and feeling parts, recognizing the sovereignty of the one that has risen. Within one person a central self is destined to stand above the rest, and the lesser faculties are drawn to acknowledge its rule.

Sheaves: gathered harvests of thought and effort within a person, the bound growth of the inner life Field: the ground of consciousness where the inner harvest is grown and ordered The sheaf that arose and stood upright: the awakening spiritual self lifting itself erect above the lower faculties Sheaves round about bowing: the other powers of mind, reason and feeling, acknowledging the risen self's rule

  1. When you are pulled in four directions this morning, pause and ask what you actually care about most today. Let the small urges fall in line behind that one answer.
  2. In a conversation where your pride and your irritation and your kindness are all shouting, let the kind one speak and keep the others seated. You can feel all three and still choose which one talks.
  3. Under pressure, before you react, take one breath and find the part of you that is not panicking. It is in there, quieter than the rest. Answer from it.

Which part of me is running my day, and is it the part I would have chosen?
