Genesis 6:15 Meaning This Is How You Shall Make It

This is how you shall make it. The length of the ship shall be three hundred cubits, its width fifty cubits, and its height thirty cubits.

What does Genesis 6:15 mean?

The ark is the body given exact measure so consciousness can ride out the flood of the lower emotions, and its dimensions are a spiritual proportion rather than carpentry. The number 300 is the length of full spirit at work, the completeness of the divine reach along the vessel; the number 50 is the breadth of liberty and quickening, the width a person is opened to receive.

The number 30 is the height of ripeness, the elevation at which the inner life is fit to serve and rise. Built to these measures, the human vessel is proportioned to hold the spirit steady while the waters of feeling surge.

Ark: the body proportioned to carry consciousness through the flood of the lower emotions 300: the number of full spirit at work, the divine reach along the length of the vessel 50: the number of liberty and quickening, the breadth a person is opened to receive 30: the number of ripeness, the height at which the inner life is fit to rise

Live Genesis 6:15 today

  1. Give your day one honest shape instead of a wish list: when you start, when you stop, when you eat. The structure is what lets you stay calm inside it.
  2. With someone you love, make the time wide enough to actually hold them. Ten unhurried minutes with your phone in another room carries more than an hour of half attention.
  3. When the pressure rises, check your own measure before you react. Am I stretched too thin here, or am I avoiding something I could carry? Adjust the one that is off.

Is my life built to the size of what I am trying to carry in it?

The same truth in other traditions

Confucianism · Doctrine of the Mean

The way lies in proportion. Too much and too little both spoil a thing, and the steady person lives at the measure.

Buddhism · the Middle Way

The strings of an instrument too tight will snap and too loose will not sing. The life that holds is the one tuned between.

Judaism · Pirkei Avot

A person is a vessel. What matters is not how grand it looks but whether it is built to hold what is poured into it.
