Genesis 8:2 · World English Bible

The sources of the flood close from within, because guilt was never poured from outside; the mind was manufacturing it and calling it weather. When the mind ceases to accuse, the springs below and the openings above run dry together, for fear has no supply but the thought that sustains it.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY
The sources of the flood close from within, because guilt was never poured from outside; the mind was manufacturing it and calling it weather. When the mind ceases to accuse, the springs below and the openings above run dry together, for fear has no supply but the thought that sustains it.
See a mind that simply stops the making of its own storm. Nothing had to be fought and nothing had to be conquered. The correction is only this: the mind withdraws its belief in threat, and the threat, having no other author, ends.
Fountains of the deep: the hidden springs of buried guilt, the depths a mind draws on to flood itself with fear. Windows of heaven: the openings through which the mind pours judgment downward, the channels of attack that empty once it forgives.
Christian Psychology lens
What storm am I keeping alive by believing in it?
Return to stillness and the churning settles on its own. Nothing has to be pushed down, because the agitation was never the water's nature.
Everything we meet is made first in the mind. Stop feeding the thought and the suffering it was pouring out has nothing left to pour.
Drop the judgment "I have been harmed" and the harm itself is gone. The injury lived in the verdict, not in the event.
