Habakkuk 3:10 · World English Bible
The mountains saw you, and were afraid. The storm of waters passed by. The deep roared and lifted up its hands on high.
When the highest thing appears, even what seemed most permanent shakes. Mountains are the emblem of everything solid and unmoving in a life, the certainties a man builds on and assumes will always be there.

CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY
When the highest thing appears, even what seemed most permanent shakes. Mountains are the emblem of everything solid and unmoving in a life, the certainties a man builds on and assumes will always be there. Here they tremble like living creatures before something greater than themselves. Nothing settled stays settled before that. The ground of your confidence turns out to have a witness above it.
The deep is the chaos beneath the ordered surface, the abyss no one masters, and even it raises its hands. The most terrifying and untameable region of being submits, lifting its arms the way a man does when he finally yields to what overwhelms him. Confronted by the ultimate, both the solid and the chaotic bow. What is highest commands the whole of reality, top to bottom, and knowing this puts a person in his rightful place.
Clinical Psychology lens
What am I holding as permanent that I have never once asked to be?
No gale blows all morning. The things that seem immovable in your life are weather too, and they pass.
Everything made of parts comes apart. Mountains included. Peace begins where you stop needing the solid things to stay solid.
Standing before what is vast, the small self stops arguing. Something in you lifts its hands and is relieved to be small.
