Habakkuk 3:11 Meaning The Sun and Moon Stood Still

The sun and moon stood still in the sky, at the light of your arrows as they went, at the shining of your glittering spear.

What does Habakkuk 3:11 mean?

Sun and moon are the 2 lights within a person, the sun the higher mind and Christ-light of direct spirit, the moon the emotional nature that keeps its own tide. Standing still in their habitation, they are the faculties gone stagnant, thought and feeling both halted until something greater moves them.

Sun and moon are the 2 lights within a person, the sun the higher mind and Christ-light of direct spirit, the moon the emotional nature that keeps its own tide. Standing still in their habitation, they are the faculties gone stagnant, thought and feeling both halted until something greater moves them.

The arrows and glittering spear are shafts of concentrated force, piercing rays that break through consciousness from the awakened center and set the stalled lights going again. Before that greater brightness, the reasoning sun and the feeling moon hang suspended in a single illumination. The higher self rises above thought like an arrow loosed, and only that piercing light gets the inner heavens moving.

  1. If you have been stuck on something, circling it in your head for days, stop thinking about it today. Go for a walk with no podcast and let something cut through instead of being figured out.
  2. Let one person say the true thing that lands hard. Do not defend, do not explain. Let it go in and get something moving in you.
  3. When a meeting or a day goes numb and flat, do one small unplanned thing that wakes you up, a window opened, a real question asked, a screen closed. Flatness breaks from a jolt, not from more effort.

What in me has been standing still, and what light would it take to get it moving?
