Psychoanalysis

Some old figures have no father, no mother, no beginning and no end. They stand outside ordinary time, the mark of something deep in the mind: a pattern that belongs to no one person but rises again in everyone.

The priest is one such pattern, the part of us that stands between the everyday self and the deep ground beneath it, carrying meaning both ways. To call him a priest forever means this bridging figure is never born and never dies. It lives in each person as a permanent part of the soul, waking whenever someone turns inward and reaches for something larger than themselves.

Live Hebrews 7:17 today

  1. Pick one daily moment that is already yours, the kettle boiling, the elevator, the first minute in the car, and let it be a doorway instead of dead time.
  2. Next time a conversation goes deeper than small talk, stay in it one question longer than feels comfortable. You are the bridge for them in that moment.
  3. When the day gets loud and you feel scattered, step outside or into a stairwell for two minutes and turn your attention inward. The way in does not close because you are busy.

When was the last time you turned inward and reached for something larger than yourself?
