Isaiah 40:4 Meaning Every Valley Shall Be Exalted
Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low. The uneven shall be made level, and the rough places a plain.

Isaiah 40:4 · World English Bible
Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low. The uneven shall be made level, and the rough places a plain.
The rising and falling landscape is the uneven terrain of a person's own consciousness being levelled as awareness dawns. The valley is the low, depressed state lifted up; the mountain and hill are the swellings of pride and the ego's high places brought down until nothing towers over the rest.

ESOTERIC
The rising and falling landscape is the uneven terrain of a person's own consciousness being levelled as awareness dawns. The valley is the low, depressed state lifted up; the mountain and hill are the swellings of pride and the ego's high places brought down until nothing towers over the rest. The crooked is the twisted, deceiving pattern of thought made straight, and the rough ground is the agitation of a divided mind smoothed into calm. All of it happens inside one being as the higher self prepares its own road through the flesh. What is described is the inner ground made even, so the light can move through a person without obstruction.
Valley: the low, depressed state of consciousness that is lifted and filled Mountain and hill: the raised places of pride and ego, brought down until nothing towers Crooked way: the twisted, deceiving pattern of thought made straight Rough places: the agitation of a divided mind smoothed into stillness

Where in you is the ground still too high or too low for anything good to travel?
Water seeks the low place and so it reaches everywhere. Level ground, not high ground, is where life moves freely.
The middle way avoids both the collapse and the swelling, since neither extreme can hold a steady mind. Evenness is not blandness, it is passable ground.
He teaches that both flattery and despair are the same error about your own size. Stop ranking yourself and the ground under you gets walkable.
