Isaiah 42:20 Meaning You See Many Things
You see many things, but don’t observe. His ears are open, but he doesn’t listen.

Isaiah 42:20 · World English Bible
You see many things, but don’t observe. His ears are open, but he doesn’t listen.
Information does not change a person; only what they hold in view long enough to feel changes them. Eyes and ears are intake, and intake is cheap.

SELF-HELP
Information does not change a person; only what they hold in view long enough to feel changes them.
Eyes and ears are intake, and intake is cheap. Nothing arrives carrying its own weight; weight gets assigned by how long attention rests on a thing, and what gets none is deleted before it can produce a feeling, and a fact that produces no feeling never becomes an action.
God's own servant, the one commissioned to open blind eyes, is the one doing the deleting, and standing close to a truth costs nothing while attending to it costs something real. Years on, a man like that blames the teaching, or the people around him, for a poverty produced entirely by what he would not spend his attention on.
Self-Help lens
What have you understood for years without ever letting it reach you?
The finger pointing at the moon is not the moon. Study the finger all your life and you never once look up.
Hearing a teaching is the easy part. Only sustained attention turns it from information into something that changes how you live.
Study that leads to no action is not really study. The knowing is finished in the doing.
