Isaiah 43:12 Meaning I Have Declared

I have declared, I have saved, and I have shown, and there was no strange god among you. Therefore you are my witnesses”, says Yahweh, “and I am God.

What does Isaiah 43:12 mean?

There is a false god that lives inside the mind, an image you have made of yourself out of memory and want. When attention turns away from that image and rests in simple presence, no strange god remains, only what is actually here.

Ego v. Being

There is a false god that lives inside the mind, an image you have made of yourself out of memory and want. When attention turns away from that image and rests in simple presence, no strange god remains, only what is actually here.

And here is where you are already delivered. You do not have to reach a distant salvation, because the peace you seek is the awareness that is looking through your eyes right now. To be a witness of this is enough. When you stop worshipping the mental picture of who you are, the aliveness that was always present becomes obvious as the ground of you.

Live Isaiah 43:12 today

  1. Before you open your phone in the morning, sit still and feel that you exist before any thought about yourself arrives. Nothing needs adding to that.
  2. Let a chance to prove yourself pass today, a clever comeback in a group chat, a correction nobody asked for. Feel how little you actually lose.
  3. When you feel the urge to perform in a meeting or a comment thread, pause and feel your hands. Speak from that calm instead of from the image you were defending.

The self you defend is only a bundle of memories. Ask who you really are, and the bundle quietly comes apart, leaving the plain fact of being.
