Isaiah 45:5 · World English Bible
I am Yahweh, and there is no one else. Besides me, there is no God. I will strengthen you, though you have not known me,
There is only one awareness, and it is looking out of every pair of eyes. The mind divides the world into countless separate selves, yet beneath every form the same presence is alive, and there is nothing standing beside it.

EGO & BEING
There is only one awareness, and it is looking out of every pair of eyes. The mind divides the world into countless separate selves, yet beneath every form the same presence is alive, and there is nothing standing beside it.
This presence has held you and shaped your life even in the years when you never once turned toward it. You were carried by something you did not recognize, mistaking the noise of thought for who you were. Now you can feel it directly, the aliveness within, and know that what strengthened you all along was never elsewhere but here, closer than your own breathing.

MANIFESTATION
One power runs the whole of a person's life, and it speaks as I am. Nothing stands beside it, because nothing else has the force to create. Money, other people, luck, the body, these are effects, not causes. The cause is the awareness of being, and the state that awareness rests in becomes the world around it. No second maker waits to be petitioned.
The line about being girded though unknown is the ordinary condition of most people. This power has been arranging their circumstances all along, without recognition, following whatever they habitually assumed. It works whether or not a person notices it. To grasp that the one God is your own I am is simply to see plainly what has held from the start.

SUFISM
Tawḥīd: Oneness Tawḥīd means that one power alone acts. Al-Ghazali pushed this further than most people expect: when help arrives through an ally, an army, or a stroke of luck, none of those started it. Someone tallying up the forces for and against them is looking at a long list of hands, all of them being moved. Nothing on that list moves by itself.
No power and no strength except by God: strength is borrowed Muslims repeat this line all day, usually when something heavy has to be lifted or faced. It meets the moment when a person measures their own capacity against what stands in front of them and comes up short. Rather than calling them strong, the line points out that the strength arriving was never theirs to keep in reserve. People are regularly handed more than they own.
Musabbib al-asbāb: the one behind the causes Al-Ghazali uses this name for the God who makes every cause work. Fire warms, medicine heals, a plan succeeds, and each looks like the doer of its own job. The teaching leaves all of that running and puts one will behind it, so nobody has to pretend that swords do not cut. The shift is in who set the chain going, not in how the links work.
Ḥijāb: the veil Al-Ghazali closes the Niche of Lights by sorting people according to what stands between them and God. Some are covered by darkness, some by light, and the ones covered by light have no idea anything is there. A person can be fed, guarded, and made strong for years while giving the credit to almost anything else. Being helped and knowing who helped are separate things, and one runs fine without the other.
Am I not your Lord? Yes: the answer was given long ago The Quran describes every soul being asked this before birth, and every soul saying yes. Rumi comes back to it again and again, treating a life as slow remembering rather than new learning. Someone who has never given God a thought is not starting from nothing; something in them was already turned that way. When recognition does arrive, it lands like a name you finally place rather than news.
Ego v. Being lens
What has been holding me up all along that I never thanked?
The same self dwells in all beings, as one fire takes the shape of whatever it burns.
The way sustains all things without announcing itself, and asks for no credit. It was holding you long before you looked for it.
You spent years calling out, and the one you called was the one answering through your own voice.
